Good quality sound, hard to place in ear, mute button broke January 4, 2009 The sound quality on both ends is good. The mic seemed to pick up my voice clear and the sound in the ear piece was always clear. The downside was that the ear piece did not fit in my ear very well. Also it is difficult to place into my ear. I've missed many-a-calls trying to get the ear piece into my ear. The mute button/switch broke after about 2 months.
great design and great quality January 1, 2009 Having tried so many headphones for my Treo with dissatisfaction, I can now finally settle. This is a great design with great quality. The wearing mechanism is the best to my liking. There are other secure wearing mechanisms, but those are overkills, either too complicated or uncomfortable. Other simpler mechanisms just did not work for me. The simplistic ear-plug types, for example, never stay in my ear. The MX-505 is the best compromise I have tried. Easy to put on, stays securely, and can be worn for a long time without discomfort.br /br /The removable microphone stick is a very unique advantage. Some users may benefit from the interchangeability of two different microphone sticks of different lengths, but to me personally the biggest advantage is the removeability not the interchangeability. I usually wear these for listening to long recordings on my Treo, so I like being able to remove the microphone stick and have it back on only when I need it. For those who are interested in interchangeable option, the two different sticks seem to have very comparable performance with the longer one having a slight edge.br /br /The quality is also appreciated. This is much better than some of the headsets I've tried in a similar price range. At least I don't see any parts that should break down easily.br /br /The sound quality is very good as well. Highly recommended.
For Home Use... December 31, 2008 This mic is very comfortable and works great with my landline phone. I did not purchse it for cell use, but I don't think it would perform any differently. Putting it on takes a little practice, but once mastered, is very easy. I've also used it with Xbox Live and it's way better than the Microsoft issued headset. The volume control, while a little bulky is an appreciated asset. I recommend this headset.
Got a lemon? December 21, 2008 My Plantronics MX505-X1 stopped working after after two weeks. Prior to that is was a satisfactory headset.
good headset quality - bad fit around the ears November 13, 2008 I have had this headset and used it for about 8 months. I liked the quality of sound and the mic picked up my voice pretty well. The volume control and mute functionality was great!br /The downside was that the headset didn't fit around my ear very well. It sort of hung on my ear mostly - wasn't snug. Perhaps my ear is small or the headset isn't just built right - I'm not sure. But because of this I won't be buying another one of these again.
