Great little phone for the price. June 19, 2008 I love this little GE phone. It works great. Well built, you can even step on it by accident/ no problem. I gave mine 2 my mom. Recommended, A++.
Phone Can't Be Taken More Than a Few Feet from Phone Jack May 1, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This phone has some pluses and minuses. On the plus side, the sound is very clear. The volume is adjustable, with settings at low, medium, and high. Also, the volume of the bell is adjustable, with settings at off, low, and medium. (The specifications say the last setting is high, but I'd call it medium.)br /br /However, the phone cord leads directly from the phone jack to the receiver, and that makes a problem. In most phones, there is a cord from the jack to the base and another cord, which is coiled, from the base to the receiver. This gives you the option of using a long coiled cord so you can take the receiver across the room. This phone uses only one cord, which is coiled for the last foot. It is 7 feet at full extension, and there isn't any way to substitute a longer cord. So if you're talking on the phone, you can't get more than 7 feet from the phone jack.br /br /I am disappointed in GE that they don't make this clear on the box and in their product description.
this phone is a junk! February 27, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this phone to serve as one of my emergency gadgets,in case of power outage. But,I was terribly disappointed. It will take minutes before the call is processed. You also, have to press hard to dial the number, oftentimes it doesnt work at all.I replaced it with ATT slimline phone and I can tell significantly the difference, just from the sound of the dial tone.I was compelled to write this review as I dont want any prospective buyers to be victimized by G.E..This is the worst electronic product I have ever purchased in my life.I will have second thoughts of buying any GE products in the future!
Appearances can be deceiving August 28, 2006 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
From the picture on the box, I thought this was a "traditional" slimline phone where you run the base cord from the wall jack into the base then the handset cord runs from the base to the handset. Instead, the base cord and handset cord is all one unit, which is not what I was looking for. The "base" cord only has 2 pairs, which I realize is what most people need if they only have one line in their house. I use this type of phone to test analog lines at my business, so I often need a 4 pair cord.
