Bought two of these to stop looking at the phone to see who is calling. These annunciate the phone number between rings 1 and 2. The speaker is male and the speech is quite clear. The volume is set by pressing a button. When you release it the voice says something which gives you the new volume. The volume can't be set extremely low.

Classco Caller ID Voice Announ Telephone.br /br /Product offers the services the description claims. Small size electronic equipment, but it is loud enough to be hear throughout the entire house. I am please with it, but I wish it would have the name announcement as well as the phone number as I do not always remember people's phone numbers.br /br /Certainly a good buy for the price.br /

Works spradically - not dependable. Will not work with AC adapter, even though directions state that it will.

THIS IS A GREAT INEXPENSIVE DEVICE THAT INSTALLS IN JUST SECONDS. HAS "OFF" AND 3 OTHER VOLUME LEVELS. I LOVE BEING ABLE TO "HEAR" WHO IS CALLING BEFORE I ANSWER. I HAVE A "NOVELTY" PHONE THAT HAS "NO CALLER ID DISPLAY" ... THIS DEVICE TOOK CARE OF THAT PROBLEM. I HAVE MINE ON "HIGHEST VOLUME SETTING" SO I CAN HERE IT EVERY WHERE IN A 30 FOOT RADIUS. br /br /THANKS ... JOE FROM TREASURE ISLAND, FL

This is a great solution to plain caller id. I am so used to hearing who is calling that when I visit friends homes and the phone rings, I find myself listening for the VA500 to announce who it is.
