The Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000 is very user-friendly. All you have to do is connect the usb cord your computer and it will start the program you uploaded (CD-rom included). You have an option of taking photos, videos or audio with the lifecam. The only negative thing about this product is that it tends to be not so clear at times, but for the most part a good buy for the price.

I bought the MS Lifecam 1000 for skype. The picture was not sharp or very bright. The camera did not sit well on any surface, it could easily be disrupted. Although the mic did pick up sound very well. I have since replaced it.
LOVE IT November 6, 2008
It is so easy to install. Now I can talk and see my family at the same time. Everyone lives in different states and it feels like they're in your home. The picture and voice are very clear. Well worth the money.
nice product for users of windows live messenger November 3, 2008
fits snugly to the top of a flat screen desktop monitor, quality of image is acceptable. a little bulky for what it is supposed to do, but overall a fine product. recommend but only if you are willing to pay the slightly higher price mandated by microsoft.

A cheap, yet well made and versatile webcam. One of the best deals around and my personal favorite, when it comes to webcams.
