It's an inexpensive phone, so the cheap feel to it is to be expected.br /br /I was surprised to see that it took batteries. A corded desk phone? It turns out that the phone simply doesn't work at all without the batteries. And a set of 4 new AA batteries lasted only three days before expiring, making the phone worthless.br /br /It really should come with an AC power supply, but I don't understand why they can't run it off the power supplied in the phone line.

This is a great phone however,the folks at ATT haven't done their homework as the speaker-phone is really bad. You get feedback and unless your right on top of it,the other party cannot hear you-you fade in and out as prior reviewers have stated. I would take a Panasonic over ATT,however the 1 line Panasonic does not have spekaer phone. ATT needs WAKE UP CALL! Stop producing Chinese garbage! What does it take to make something good? Uniden has a great speaker phone but has a corded base,and a cordles handset. Too bad they don't just make a corded telephone as they would blow everyone else away.

I did some comparisons for wired phones. Phone is just average, however I was disappointed that it did not have a lighted caller ID window. It's very hard to see anything in the window.

I am very disappointed with the speakerphone portion. The only reason I bought this was for the speakerphone. br /br /The persons voice on the other end fades in an out constantly. I had assumed it was noise/feedback on my end. But it does the same thing with mute on.br /br /Will have to return and try a different model/brand.
