Works great for me May 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought these and and extension unit when we went to Dish. I did read all of the reviews first and made sure it was not connected to a power strip. The first one synced up no problem the second one took a couple of times but they have been flawless since even after a power outage they came back on with no issues. saves me 10.00 a month or the hassle of running a phone line. The caller ID pass thru works as well using vonage

Are you paying the extra $5.99 to Dish Network because your receiver is not connected to a phone line and there is no phone line near your receiver?br /br /This product from Phonex is the answer. Just plug it into an outlet near your receiver and the other unit to an outlet near your phone, your DVR will be connected to a phone line and you will be saving $5.99/month on your Dish bill.br /br /This works as advertised.
Works Great But... December 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product works well when installed correctly and for the intended use. At first I struggled with establishing a connection between the base and extention unit. I tried plugging the base into a surge protector. br /br /This was a waste of time and effort. The manufacturers are serious- the base unit requires a DEDICATED ac outlet! If you relay it into a power strip, surge protector or extention cord the harmonic electrical impulses generated by the other in-line appliances will interupt the signal and it will not work.br /br /Also, this device is primarily intended for sat receivers and fax machines, and a filter must be used if you use a DSL computer ISP. If it works as a phone extention consider yourself lucky.br /br /Thank you.

The only way to tell if you're getting a VOICE capable jack is the "V" behind the model - as in PX-211V. I had to call Phonex to find that out only AFTER I bought a hundred dollars worth of DATA ONLY ("D" designated) jacks that I now have to sell on eBay. br /br /When I asked the woman at Phonex how customers are supposed to tell the difference online (where we can't see the item we're buying) and she said, and I quote, "That's a good question!" br /br /Phonex- get it together! I find no "V" or "D" reference on the Amazon site. br /br /Oh...these jacks worked very well with my DISH Network receiver...if you only need data, you'll do well with these.
Static but works as promised November 22, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a VoIP telephone service and DirecTV. I had my VoIP router damaged already when I had it plugged into the house wiring even though I had it unplugged on the outside of the house. I am now using a phone system (multiple handset phone) and this jack for my directv receiver. There is static on the line, but my receiver is able to connect, so it is working as I need it to.
