I can hear but no one hears me November 20, 2008 Everything works, except no audio is heard by those calling me. One way conversations don't satisfy the need.
Works Great! November 8, 2008 We've had the Cell Fusion setup and working for about a month and it's performed great. Good sound quality and no dropped calls. Great value and worth a try.
Only one con: The #1# required to dial out is a bit more than the older cell socket setup we had. But this requirement is due to the Cell Fusion's two cell phone connection capability.
SLICKERTHANAHOUNDSTOOTH November 7, 2008 Wow! Hooked it up. Paired my cellphone. Had someone call my cellphone and then my home number. Both came through. Both with caller ID. Audio is fine on both calls. Magic! Perfect product! I think some would complain that it only can handle two cellphones, but that is quite adequate for me -- AND IT WORKS!
This Gateway Works! October 19, 2008 In the world of Bluetooth gateways, when a product actually does what is says it is supposed to do I am very pleased. Even more when it is a GE product that actually works and is lower in price than the competition.
This gateway does work. Sound quality is good. No dropped calls. Easy to engage or disengage. These are my required criteria.
I do not understand the negative reviews of this product. This gateway lets you use any phone you chose instead of forcing you to use a proprietary cheap handset.
The better the connected phone, the better the sound quality. If you hook the gateway up to a bargain basement phone, the sound quality will go down.
As per the manual, keep the cell phone at least 2 feet away from the Gateway or there will be a sound quality issue.
To disengage, simply push the blue light on the gateway. Some people want an automatic reengagement when returning. I simply push the button on the Gateway and reactivate Bluetooth on the cell. This will reengage the link. I takes 20 seconds. Is this a material issue? Not for me, because this gateway works and has worked for weeks for me with no issues at all. Issues for me are sound quality and dropped calls - check out the reviews on competitive products - they appear to have issues.
Add in a price lower than the competition and this gateway is a sure winner.
Good but try Xlink October 8, 2008 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
1st I would like to say that I work for the Xlink-cell Bluetooth Gateway company. That being said the GE device works but you should try the Xlink. It has a more recent blue tooth integration (has better audio and works with more cell phones). It is upgradeable via the USB port i.e. when new phones come out there is new firmware that you can update. The GE product is not upgradeable. Lastly the Xlink can be used with up to 3 cell phones.
