2 out of 5 stars Not a great bargain   November 16, 2008
Since it is my first speakerphone I can't compare it to anything else. I will just evaluate it based on the product manufacturer's description.br /The initial operation and pairing process was a piece of cake. Communication with the mobile device is good as well. These are the only two good things I can say about the device.br /The volume is way too loud even at its lowest point. In terms of operating it on your vehicle FM radio, don't even bother.br /Advice: Buy a pair of ear plugs when using this speakerphone over your head or you'll lose your hearing.br /

3 out of 5 stars Another damn charger!   November 16, 2008

Sleek and simple - only 3 buttons! It would rate higher except for the charger. At first glance it looks like a standard USB-Mini-USB port. It is not! If they had used the standard port, then any of my other chargers that use a mini-USB would work. Instead, they have a standard large USB on one end of the cable, but the port on the unit is PROPRIETARY! So you have to use Jabra's charger and cable and you are out of luck if you misplace them. br /br /There is NO excuse for not using a standard mini-USB as charger for pretty much any mobile device. In some countries, it's the law - you can't buy a cell phone there that is not mini-USB ported. I already have a drawer full of chargers, the last thing I needed was another one when it could so easily be avoided.

3 out of 5 stars Jabra SP 700   October 17, 2008

The device works OK. A little bit of static on both ends but usable. I find it very difficult to turn the power on and even more difficult to get the device to power down. They should have spent the extra 25 cents to put in an on/off switch instead of trying to use the answer button for dual purpose.

4 out of 5 stars Neat device but does not support multipoint   October 7, 2008

This is a really cool device. br /br /I got one for my wife so she could answer and talk on the phone without looking for her headset and turning it on. br /br /Product works as advertised, and in fact has a number of novel features. br /br /The only "Con" is that it does not support a 2 phone household. It can only be paired to a single phone. It does not support multipoint or dual pairing like some other prodicts (the Jawbone headset). This means that to reconnect it to the secondary phone you must pair it again. br /br /Other than that: br /1) It's very loud. easy to hear br /2) uses standard USB to charge br /3) The FM feature allows you to listen to the caller through your car stereo br /4) the caller ID of the caller is spoken to you and broadast on your radio using RDS (so you can see the text of the phone number). Very nead. br /5) it announced when it has turned on, off, paired, enabled FM. It's fantastic to get this audible feedback so you know it's working. br /br /I highly reccomned this to anyone who needs a speakerphone for their car. My only caveat is that if you plan to share a car with 2 people it's not so great unless one person only uses the SP700. I would have given it 5 stars if it supported dual pairing.

5 out of 5 stars Best one so far   September 29, 2008

It's thin, good looking, and it works as promised. Pairing was simple, and the FM transmitter works great even in my car with embedded antennae in the rear window (no aerial, just thin wires in glass). Audio quality is perfect, better than my wired Motorola headset. All of my K1's features work (voice recognition, streaming music). Have not had it long enough to stress battery life. I even use it in my office as a desk speakerphone. Plan on getting the wife one also, no more headsets for us.
