Not worth the price November 10, 2008 I ordered this hoping the ambient noise feature would make for a better listening and speaking experience on my Palm Centro. Sadly, while the ambient noise feature was better, the regular listening and speaking features were much worse than the BT8040 which I already have at half the price. Sound was extremely choppy. Returned for credit.
Lightweight, decent ambient noise reduction October 31, 2008 I recently purchased the Jabra BT530 Bt HDst. Friends on the receiving end say they can hear wind sounds from my MX5 convertible, but I can easily be understood; this is definitely an improvement over my previous bluetooth headset. This Jabra is incredibly lightweight, fits on easily and my ears are mini-satellite dishes), has controls for volume and on/off that are easily manipulated, though I must admit the connect/disconnect button is a bit difficult to locate on occasion. Another issue is that if you try and wear it without the ear loop, as it is designed to allow you to do, regardless of the earbud used, the device points into my chin, rather than parallel to it. With my beard, people I call tell me my words are difficult to make out, so I have to wear the ear loop, though that's no big deal. And aesthetically, the silver plastic makes it look like I bought it on the cheap, but no one accuses me of being satorially splendid. So, I would recommend this product to others, but not entirely without qualification.
Nice Headset October 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Doesn't block the sound as well as the Jawbone, it more or less reduces the background noise. The headset is comfortable and I've been able to wear it on long three or four hour conference calls. The ear gels allow you to use the headset without the ear hook which is great for short calls 5 - 10 min in length which is nice for those who don't want to look like a borg because you can keep the headset in your pocket and stick it in when the phone rings. I've found that on longer calls you'll want the earhook in.br /br /The ability to play music from my blackberry curve works great at work as it's just in one ear, and to me it's like having background music. I don't even have to turn it off when a co-worker starts to talk to me.br /br /All in all this is a nice headset thats worth the money. If you're looking for a comfortable headset that will reduce the background noise of the cube farm you work in, and play back ground music to mute them out when your off the phone, this headset will work for you.
Jabra BT530 not as good on BB 8320 then Jabra 8040 October 23, 2008 Had many BT for my BlackBerry 8320, the Plantronics 655 855, Jawbone II, Jabra BT530 and Samsung WEP350; When walking the BT headset crackles a lot, when in car or stationary the BT is fine. I have also changed out the BB 8320 but its the same. The Jabra 8040 seems to be the best yet.br /br /Thanksbr /Simon
Nothing Special October 20, 2008 This is the 5th BlueTooth headset I have tried and despite the glowing reviews, it is no better than any other I have. I had real hopes for it but it falls short for me in two ways.br /First, the fit is really bad. The main issue is that the rubbber thing that goes in your ear is nearly impossable to turn and position and the ear hook is NOT bendable so you can make the actual microphone part lay flat to your cheek. Second, the quality, both send and recieve is not noticablly better than a $29 palm device I have.
